This clinic is designed for high school swimmers looking to improve their freestyle stroke and learning more about college swim recruiting. Several Aquinas coaches and athletes will be teaching and giving participant feedback. Parents are welcome to watch the clinic from the bleachers on the pool deck. The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to hearing from a panel of current Aquinas swimmers’ recruiting experience as well as Q&A time.
Did you know that there are several different ways to swim freestyle depending on your race distance? We will mainly focus on sprint freestyle stroke technique using a combination of drills and skills, then we will end with racing! We will also cover hip-driven freestyle, which is mostly used in training and longer distances.
Please bring a snorkel (not required but highly suggested) and fins if you have them. These tools will help you with the drills we do. We will also have some extra equipment on hand if you do not own your own equipment. If you desire to purchase your own equipment, you can find good fins and snorkels at swimoutlet.com - they should ship to you quickly. Snorkels are a great tool to use for drills and learning new skills while eliminating having to change your head position to breathe.
