Coach Kinzer
Head Coach

Coach Kinzer hails from Fort Wayne, IN, graduating from a competitive high school program that sent athletes to the Olympic Trials and World Trials. She swam and studied at Calvin University, specializing in sprint backstroke, butterfly, and freestyle. Kinzer was a part of a school record-holding 200 medley relay that earned NCAA Division III All-American status and Scholar All-American honor, in addition to the 100 backstroke school record in 2013. Graduating with a BSN, Kinzer obtained her RN and worked as a neurology nurse in downtown Grand Rapids for 3 years, while switching career paths to college coaching at her alma mater for two years. The Knights won the MIAA conference titles on both the men’s and women’s side in 2016, with the women repeating in 2017.

Diving head-first into college coaching, Kinzer earned a Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Western Michigan University while serving as an intern in the strength and conditioning department for Olympic sports. This experience and strong understanding of physiology applied to athletics propelled Kinzer on to confidently assemble training programs both on land, the weight room, and the water for successful coaching tenures.

While serving as an assistant coach at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, Kinzer coached both Spartans swim teams and helped CWRU tally strong finishes at the 2019-02 UAA Championships. Five Spartan women advanced to the 2020 NCAA Championships and earned All-American and Academic All-American honors. Case Western Reserve's men broke five new school records and the women set three program records, while the women also posted the 10th-highest team GPA (3.63) among all NCAA Division III schools.

When offered her dream job of head swim and dive coach at Aquinas College, Kinzer set to work on building up a successful team both in the water and in the classroom. The Saints finished their inaugural season with 10 NAIA national provisional time standards and numerous PRs. She is excited to build the team up to be a nationally recognized team.
